Effective January 1, 2013 DPS No Longer Requires SR-13 Forms
The Online Insurance Verification System (OIVS) going into production January 2013 has enabled Public Safety to no longer require SR-13 forms from drivers involved in a traffic accident. The SR-13 has been replaced with a new form called SR-31. The SR-31 contains only the claim portion necessary for Public Safety to take administrative action on an at fault driver with no insurance coverage. The new form is available from DPS offices or online at http://dps.alabama.gov/services/.
